Speakers
Front, center and surround channels. Compare verified specs, real pricing and home-theater compatibility across every model we track.
Speakers decide how the system sounds — and they outlast everything else in the rack, which is why the budget guide puts about half of a build's money here. Two numbers govern whether a speaker is easy to live with: sensitivity (how loud it plays per watt) and impedance (the electrical load it presents, including how far it dips below the nominal figure). Both are routinely published without their measurement conditions, so our catalog records the stated values with their context — or marks the context unstated — instead of pretending all 87 dB figures mean the same thing. One pricing trap we normalize away: retailers list some speakers per unit and some per pair without saying so loudly; every stereo-pair speaker below shows what the left/right pair costs. Prices are live estimates from tracked retailers, cheapest first. Pair any speaker with a receiver in the builder and it will flag the hard-to-drive combinations before you buy.
